
The Steam Packet Company has confirmed fishing gear was the cause of the problems with the Ben-my-Chree last week.
Its port-side engine stopped working as it came into Douglas harbour on Thursday (Feb 12) because netting was tangled around the propeller.
Passengers had to spend an extra four hours on board while the problems were investigated before eventually being towed into berth by a tug boat.
