
A highlight in the rural Manx calendar takes place today (Sat)
The 78th Cronk y Voddy ploughing match is at Ballakilmurrey Farm off the Poortown Road.
The event features classes for Manx and World style ploughing with vintage tractors and the ever popular horse drawn ploughs.
The horses themselves will be judged by President of Tynwald Claire Christian.
The event gets underway at 10.30am and finishes at 3.15pm with a prize presentation, concert and supper in the Methodist Hall St Johns at 7.45pm.
The evening's proceedings will be chaired by Alan Wilcocks.
