Changes to come in gradually
Ministers say new laws governing equality will be phased in gradually, and won't come as a 'big bang'.
The landmark Equality Act, which protects against discrimination and aims to provide equal opportunities for all Islanders, was granted Royal Assent last week.
A Cabinet Office group has now been set up to manage the legislation, which must be fully implemented by 2020.
Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas says employers will be given 'plenty of support' to prepare for the comprehensive laws, and government will be there to ensure it works smoothly:
