Lifesaver urges public to take care
A retired fireman says he defied years of training when he entered the water in Douglas Marina to help rescue a tourist in distress on Friday.
Bobby Moore just happened to be passing by North Quay as members of the public noticed a man in his mid-60s had fallen in trying to board a yacht.
He then went in himself to help before emergency services arrived.
Mr Moore is now urging people to take care when trying to board boats there:
Island's finances 'in a better position than most other jurisdictions'
Completion of assisted dying bill 'the most significant moment of 2025'
Keep dogs away from Garwick Beach for next few days
Cost of sending a letter on the Island to increase in January
