Two appliances from Kirk Michael station plus Chemical and Decontamination units from Douglas were called to an incident in Peel yesterday (Sat)
The call out came just after 1pm after occupants of a house on Ballabooie road reported unusual fumes in the building.
On arrival, crews identified the source to be two computer battery backup units which had overheated.
The batteries were isolated and removed from the property by firemen wearing breathing apparatus and the building was then vented.
