Flames extinguished by competitors and marshals
Fire services were called to help at the Manx National Rally yesterday (Sat) - after a car burst into flames.
The call-out came around 10.30am during stage 9 of the event.
The clerk of the course closed the stage to competitors to allow officers access to the vehicle to deal with the fire.
On arrival, crews found flames had been extinguished by competitors and marshals . . but they used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to damp the vehicle down.
Officers were at the scene for 30 minutes.
