Oven fire causes smoke in classroom
Fire services attended an incident at Ashley Hill school yesterday after reports of smoke in a classroom.
The call out came just after 1pm.
It was quickly established that the smoke had come from a minor fire in an oven which was out on their arrival.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus removed the content of the oven before venting the classroom to clear it of smoke.
All pupils and staff had been safely evacuated from the building.
