Fire risk prompts washing machine recall

Advice issued on checking your product

The public is being warned certain Hotpoint and Indesit washing machines could pose fire risks.

Some models manufactured between October 2014 and February 2018 contain a fault with the door lock that causes overheating.

Owners of the appliances are asked to check the model and serial number which can be found inside the door or on the back of the machine.

You're then told to visit washingmachinerecall.whirlpool.co.uk or call the free hotline on 0800 316 1442 to find out if a replacement is needed.
