Part of the road at the Point of Ayre has been closed after a cylinder went on fire.
A cordon has been put in place at the Point of Ayre quarry.
Cranstal Road, Bride is closed from a point about 200 metres up to the entrance to the Sand Quarry.
The closure will be in force for some time, possibly up to 24 hours.
Ramsey fire crews are at the scene.
