Thirty-year-old shouted homophobic abuse at police
A man who racially abused bouncers as he was kicked out of the Palace Hotel last night has been fined.
He also swore and spouted homophobic abuse at police officers.
Thirty-year-old Jonathan Charles Stewart appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes this morning, and represented himself.
He told the court he had been out with friends to mark his last night in the Isle of Man before moving back to England, and had been drinking.
Stewart was asked to leave (and then forcibly removed when he refused to do so), after having a go at bar staff.
He today apologised for his behaviour, said he had mental health issues and was taking medication, and said he just wanted the matter resolved.
Mrs Hughes fined him £800 and ordered him to pay £125 towards prosecution costs.
