Their mum Sarah says while she will never fully come to terms with their loss, she remains resolute in her determination to carry on in their memory.
And their dad Ray believes their deaths may help change 'the system' in the future.
Manx Radio caught up with them both as they mark the anniversary of their sons' deaths:
As a means to keep their sons' memories alive Ray and Sarah Lakeman have released a CD titled 'Songs for Jactor - Something Happened' to mark a decade since the tragedy.
It's free to everyone on the Island; the songs in the report you just heard are just two of the 17 tracks that were recorded for them.
The CDs are free and can be found at Trend in Port Erin or Torden Stores in Port St Mary.
Anyone who would like to make a charitable contribution has been asked to consider the charity Anyone's Child or the Parkinson's Society.
