Final sitting of Keys for legislative year

Today sees the final House of Keys and Legislative Council sittings for this legislative year.

In Keys there are 12 questions for oral answer, with a further nine for written reply.

And there are some familiar subjects on the question paper.

The Pinewood investment is going to get a final airing in Keys this year, with South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft asking the Treasury Minister to explain why the shares have reduced in value since the start of last month.

She has a number of written questions relating to this subject as well. Eddie Teare will also be asked about a new tax measurement method, the deficit estimate and the proposed health review fund.

The Chief Minister will be telling us about plans to ring-fence potential revenue from Island sea beds, equality in the public service and how money saved by the child benefit reform is being spent.

The Law Officers bill will be read for a second time, the Public Services Commission bill for a third. Chris Thomas is going to seek leave to introduce a bill to amend the Town and Country Planning Act, and in Legco - no questions just four bills for consideration.

Keys questions will be broadcast live on AM1368 from 10 o’clock this morning.
