Old £10 note also being withdrawn
Today (Wednesday) is the final day Island residents can use UK round pound coins.
After that, they’ll no longer be accepted in local shops, although they can be returned to banks in exchange for valid tender.
UK round pounds ceased to be legal tender last October but Island retailers continued to accept them until now to ease them out of circulation.
From tomorrow, the Manx round pound and UK 12-sided pound will be the only usable £1 coins in the Isle of Man.
The UK’s old series £10 note will also be withdrawn.
