Animal spotted along south coast
After six years without a single sighting, a humpback whale has been spotted off the Manx coast for the fifth time this year.
Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch says the animal was seen just a few hundred metres offshore in Perwick Bay before continuing across Port St Mary and Carrick Bay on Saturday.
It was seen breaching a number of times and swimming on its side and upside down - something the charity describes as typical humpback behaviour.
It's not known how long the whale will have stayed in the area for, but it's thought it should be possible to spot along the south and east coast.
