Last month was the fifth driest November on record.

More than half the 53.3mm of rain collected in the gauge at Ronaldsway fell on the morning of 23 November during Storm Bert.

Despite being relatively dry there were only 43 and a half hours of sunshine which is considerably down on the average of 67 hours.

The 11 days from 30 October to 9 November was the longest spell with no sunshine on record - beating the previous record of 10 consecutive days in March 1969.

Temperatures were slightly above the 30-year average with a 24 hour mean of 9.1 degrees.

Even with a visit from Storm Bert the mean wind speed of 11.1 knots is the third lowest on record.

Looking back at the three months of autumn there was a little less rain and wind with sunshine and temperatures near the average.

There was 224mm of rain compared to the 278mm average, the average daily maximum was 14.0°C, and there were 330 hours of sunshine.

There were four days with gales but the mean speed was 11.9 knots, 1.2 knots lower than the long-term average of 13.1 knots.
