Festival of Choirs returns to the Villa Marina Royal Hall

Tribute to event's founder, Geoff Corkish

The Festival of Choirs returns to the Villa Marina this weekend (10-12 October).

Starting tonight, the annual choral competition sees groups from the Island and further afield take part to try and win the title "Choir of the Festival".
One choir - travel depending - is expected to arrive from Sierra Leone.

The idea for the annual event  - which started in 2010 - came from the late Geoff Corkish, a former MHK and director of the festival who died last month.

Organiser Gary Corkhill says Geoff wanted to give the Island's tourism sector a late 'boost' in the season:
