
The travel pressure group Travel Watch says a regular check should be made on the Island's requirements from its ferry operators.
Their comments come after the government's announcement that expressions of interest are being sought from Irish Sea Ferry Companies.
It's a part of what is termed a review of strategic sea services and long term options, which looks beyond the end of the current user agreement in 2020.
An option exists to extend the agreement 2026.
