The stubborn east wind during the middle of the month kept the mean mind speed up to 15.9 knots compared with the long-term average of 14.6.
Much of the month was dull with 70.6 hours of sunshine recorded which is only around 15 hours below average.
The warmest day was 20 February when the mercury rose to 11.5 °C; the coldest day recorded was eight days later at 0.5 °C.
