Former health minister says £357 million is not enough
A former health minister is warning of further cuts to health services due to the amount allocated for Manx Care in this year's Budget.
Treasury has announced its plan for the next financial year in Tynwald today (18 February).
The health body is set to get £357 million with a £14 million contingency pot available.
But Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper told Tynwald he believes Manx Care actually needs upwards of £370 million as a base figure:
In response Health and Social Care Minister Claire Christian said the details of how Manx Care plans to deliver services within this year's Budget will be outlined in the upcoming mandate and operating plan:
Main road between Peel and Douglas to shut for tree felling
'Targeted and intelligence led approach' to protect Island's borders during Irish sailings
