36 cases recorded in just over four years
The number of incidents of self harm at the Isle of Man Prison are falling according to Department of Home Affairs figures.
Data released to Manx Radio in response to a Freedom of Information request showed 36 cases of self harm were recorded between June 2013 and March last year.
2014 saw 13 incidents, but this fell to eight the following year and in 2016, while just two were recorded in the first three months of 2017.
The opposite trend has been seen in the UK, where figures released by the Ministry of Justice last month showed record levels of self harm by prisoners.
