Face coverings 'strongly advised' in crowded spaces

Cases expected to 'fluctuate' for foreseeable future, gov't says

Government is now strongly advising residents should wear face coverings in crowded and enclosed spaces.

It comes after a recent review on face coverings from the Council of Ministers.

Officials say whilst numbers of Covid-19 cases have reduced from the recent peak, levels are expected to 'fluctuate' for the foreseeable future.

Government claims an increased use and consideration of face coverings could play a role in containing further spread.

Chief Minister, Howard Quayle, says whilst it's 'encouraging' to see recent case numbers drop, it is 'still too early to tell' what long-term trends look like.

Face coverings are not being made a legal requirement and will still be a matter of personal choice.

The situation will be reviewed at the end of the month.
