Critical injuries sustained in Ulster Grand Prix

Popular French racer Fabrice Miguet has died after sustaining serious injuries in a crash at the Ulster Grand Prix on Saturday (11th Aug)

A statement from Clerk of the Course Noel Johnston says organisers have been in constant contact with his team and family, both directly and via local authorities, and he's extremely saddened to know that the rider has succumbed to his injuries.

The 49 year old racer from Normandy was a regular competitor at the Ulster Grand Prix and Isle of Man TT.

In his statement Mr Johnston says, “our thoughts are with Fabrice’s parents and the Optimark team, as well as his wider circle of family and friends as they come to terms with their loss.”

It's been a tragic year for the road racing fraternity, with top riders including James Cowton, Dan Kneen, Adam Lyon, William Dunlop and Clive Ling among those lost.
