MHK insists given circumstances figures are 'fantastic'
It's expected that this years TT will see fewer visitors than previously.
The MHK with political responsibility for tourism has predicted the Island will see up to a thousand less visitors travelling by boat than was seen in 2019.
Numbers of those travelling by air are not currently known due to the continued disruption of flights.
Rob Callister says there are a number of reasons why this may be the case:
Residents still want to see what wind farm will look like
Construction costs on the Island 18% above UK average and comparable with Outer London
Manx residents 'will probably need to pay more' if they want universal health service
