Tim Johnston looking forward to working with new treasury minister
The enterprise minister says he isn't going anywhere.
It's in response to questions that were raised in Tynwald this week (20 January), when one member asked why it was only Alex Allinson who was fired over the minimum wage rise and not Tim Johnston as well.
The Ayre and Michael MHK says he has done his job in bringing a number of changes as well as working on fair wages and ensuring the changes don't damage businesses:
He spoke to Phil Gawne:
He adds he is looking forward to working closely with the new Treasury Minister Chris Thomas.
"We recognise it is a challenge, but clearly, the level of concern there's been there's a real feel and need for change", DFE Minister Tim Johnston
'New minimum wage approach'
Tynwald has backed the chief minister's new approach to increasing the minimum wage.
Members voted in support of an amendment from Alfred Cannan to set the rate at £12.86 from 1 April instead of the previously approved 9.9 percent rise to £13.46.
