MHK expects gas exploration and net zero to feature in 2026 campaign
An MHK says he expects energy security to be a major issue at next year's general election.
Douglas Central member Chris Thomas recently sought Tynwald approval to invite new applications to explore for gas off the Island's coast, but the motion was defeated.
The Manx parliament previously agreed not to issue any new licences for hydrocarbons, while a project by previous licence holder Crogga stalled.
Mr Thomas believes it's a topic that will come up on the doorstep ahead of September's vote:
