
Ramsey’s naval ties will remain proud and active, according to the chairman of the town’s commissioners.
An end of an era was marked on Wednesday when Ramsey Steamship Company sold its two vessels - Ben Maye and Ben Varrey - to a Kent based firm.
The Island operation is being wound-up after 100 years because of a huge pensions liability.
However, Captain Nigel Malpass says the Steamship Company can be proud of its work and the fact both Ben vessels will continue to operate in the Irish Sea.
