Replacement promised in spring
The Electric Railway sign at Derby Castle is going to be taken down by two large cranes next week.
It's because the supporting frame has corroded, and needs to be removed before winter for safety reasons.
The sign's been there since 1993 when the MER celebrated it's centenary
Government has promised a replacement will be put up next spring at the start of the 2021 railway season.
