Committee queries variation in process
Those behind the planning of last year's Isle of Man general election say they remain open to any suggestions to improve the procedure and integrity of future elections.
Electoral Registration Officer Della Fletcher and Head of the Crown and Elections Team Kirsty Helmsley have given evidence to the Tynwald Select Committee on the Organisation and Operation of the General Election.
It was set up in the wake of discrepancies in the counting of votes at several constituencies.
The committee heard that there had been "significant challenges" in securing the services of a sufficient number of Returning Officers to operate polling stations and counts.
Ms Fletcher admitted it may not be possible to produce a uniform set of rules for every officer to follow:
