A man who attempted to smuggle almost 25 grammes of Cocaine into the Isle of Man has received an eight year prison sentence.
John Darren Connolly was arrested on 23rd February this year after getting off a flight from Liverpool.
When he was searched it was discovered he was carrying 24.74 grammes of the drug internally.
The cocaine had an Isle of Man street value of £1500.
Police say it's a significant sentence for someone bringing drugs into the Island which they hope will make people think twice about being use as "drug mules."
They add that carrying drugs internally can have a significant health risk
