Manx National Heritage are planning how best to protect the wetland area, the Ballaugh Curraghs, from drying out.
In his 2019 report, Professor James Curran says such bogs must be protected and encouraged.
But invasive plants and trees, like willow and ash, are threatening to change the character of the site.
