A 'turning point' for 'civilised' society
An education specialist has been reflecting on 150-years since compulsory education was brought into force.
In 1872, the Isle of Man Government passed the Education Bill for public elementary education.
It was described as a turning-point to creating a 'civilised' society.
Professor Angela Little says it was actually a re-introduction of compulsory education:
