Is preferred option for the replacement for Murray's Road school
The old Park Road School site 'remains a viable site' for 'part of' a new primary school within central Douglas.
That's according to the education minister, who was quizzed on the future plans for the site in the House of Keys this week.
The area has long been cited as the desired location for a new school, but concrete plans are still yet to materialise.
Daphne Caine told members the site does not match the requirements needed to accommodate a complete two-form entry school, but rather a junior school, with an infant school located elsewhere.
In this week's sitting, she was asked whether the site was big enough, and if the land could be used for other projects instead.
Minister Caine confirmed that the Park Road site is currently the preferred option for the replacement for Murray's Road school:
