Onchan MHK describes size of government as 'biggest elephant in room'
Efforts to control the size and structure of the public sector have been criticised by an Onchan MHK for not being ‘visionary’.
A new ‘recruitment control framework’ for the Isle of Man Government was unveiled this week as part of plans to deliver £10 million in savings.
Departments will now need to justify that new hires are ‘absolutely necessary’ and applications to fill vacant roles will go before a panel.
