The charity is supported by 70 volunteers and has 150 attendances at weekly sessions each month

A mental health charity has received £50,000 in funding from Manx Lottery Trust through the Dormant Assets Fund.

The grant will see Ed Space create two full-time roles, a Head Coordinator and an Operations and Support Officer.

It currently organises eight mental health peer-support services a week around the Island, along with partnerships with GPs and healthcare professionals and outreach visits to Manannan Court.

The recruited staff will work with volunteers and support with administration, compliance, and help strengthen the charity’s long-term fundraising.

Ed Space Co-Founder Shirley Cain says: “Ed Space has grown considerably, and our volunteers have been central to everything we have achieved.

"As demand for our support continues, it is vital that we put the right structure in place to support them and ensure our services remain safe, consistent and sustainable."

Chairman of Manx Lottery Trust David Christian says: “This project will give the charity the dedicated capacity it needs to support its volunteers, strengthen its services and build a more sustainable organisation.”
