Manx Care blames lack of availability at GPs
The emergency department at Noble's Hospital and the out of hours GP service are seeing 'winter levels of demand in summer'.
Manx Care has reported a 40 per cent rise in demand for ED - while calls to MEDS are up 60 per cent.
It's believed a lack of availability at local surgeries is forcing patients to seek treatment at the hospital.
Director of operations Oliver Radford says extra funds are being used to take the pressure off GPs:
Warmer than average May for Island
Increased DfE support 'to tackle rising costs and global pressures'
Police appeal after two motorcycles involved in collision
Childcare Credit payments to increase
