'Earystane is facing the right direction' says researcher

A energy transition advisor says the land earmarked to build a windfarm in the South of the Island is perfect as it's considered a 'windy site' 

David Quirk, who is with University of Denmark and also a research director at the Energy Sustainability Centre on the Island made the comment on Manx Radio's Mannin Line earlier today. 

He says the Irish Sea as a whole is 'very windy' and so wind is funnelled into Earystane which is facing the right direction - adding having alternatives is key nowadays. 

Commenting on some resident's views on the building of the facility, Mr Quirk said it's popular and seen as an investment:
