Loss of promising racer Jochem van den Hoek
An inquest into the death of Dutch TT rider Jochem van den Hoek has heard he died due to abdominal injuries following a motorcycle crash.
The 28 year old from the Netherlands, whose occupation was given as bicycle maker, crashed at the 11th milestone on the TT course during the Superstock race on Wednesday 7th of June.
The court heard the rider had initially been conscious following the accident but suffered cardiac arrest.
Coroner of Inquests, John Needham, released the body for funeral arrangements to be made and adjourned the inquest to a date to be fixed.
