Drop in Wildlife Park visitors last year

Numbers down by 4.5 percent in 2024

There was a drop in visitors to the Curraghs Wildlife Park last year.

Numbers fell by 4.5 percent in 2024.

DEFA Minister Clare Barber was asked for her department’s key performance indicators, how they were selected, and how these align with public benefit, by Glenfaba and Peel MHK Kate Lord-Brennan.

Her written answer also reveals her department had been hoping for an increase of at least 5 percent in visitors compared to the previous year.

Last summer, government announced consultants were being appointed to draw up a master plan to secure the future of the loss-making wildlife park.

The move came after some 50,000 people visited in 2023, but it made a loss of about £500,000.
