Manx Care shares full line-up of events for public, professionals and practitioners

A number of drop-in sessions are being held across the Island over the next few days to mark the third joint Adult and Children’s Safeguarding Week.

This year’s theme is ‘Safeguarding is everyone’s business’, and the line-up includes activities for professionals, practitioners and members of the public.

The Northern Wellbeing Partnership and Housing Team are hosting open drop-in sessions at Ramsey Town Hall tomorrow (Tuesday 18 November) between 10am-12pm.

Meanwhile, professionals and practitioners can share insight and enhance their learning during free training sessions hosted by the Isle of Man Safeguarding Board online or in-person at The Roundhouse and Keyll Darree.

Workshop sessions for safeguarding professionals include cyber safety, substance abuse, homelessness and neurodivergence.

Lesley Walker, Independent Chair of the Isle of Man Safeguarding Board, said: "This year’s theme highlights the vital role each of us plays in recognising, reporting and responding to concerns. Safeguarding works best when individuals, communities and professionals all play their part.

"When we understand the signs and know how to act, we help create a safer Island for everyone.

"By working together, we can ensure that people receive the protection and support they need, when they need it."

More details about workshops are at the safeguarding website.
