Future unclear as area coordinator announces final year in the role
Fewer people in the Isle of Man are taking part in the charity programme Operation Christmas Child.
That's according to Marlene Akitt, the area coordinator for the campaign, also known as the shoebox appeal.
The annual effort provides underprivileged children in poorer countries with a gift package over the Christmas period.
It's Ms Akitt's last year in the role and she hopes people will step up this season.
