Drone users reminded not to fly devices during Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix course closures

Those breaching restriction could face prosecution and a fine of up to £10,000

Drone users are being reminded not to use their devices over the Mountain Course during road closures at the Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT.

The fly zone covers all airspace within the vicinity of the TT course, and comes info force an hour before the first road closure until all roads have reopened.

The restriction is to keep airspace available for emergency and filming helicopters, as well as preventing distractions for riders.

The Isle of Man Constabulary and the event's official media partners do have permission to operate drones within the restricted areas.

Marshals are instructed to report any sightings of other drones to race control and the police, which could result in practice or racing being stopped.

The no fly zone is in force from 16 August to 28 August.

Anyone caught breaching the restriction faces potential prosecution and a fine of up to £10,000.
