6-mile no-fly zone around Douglas
The Department of Infrastructure says if you’re planning to film the Red Arrows with a drone tonight – don’t!
Air traffic controllers at Ronaldsway Airport say anywhere within six miles of the capital is restricted airspace this evening, and it’s illegal to fly into between 7.25pm and 8.05pm.
DoI staff also say it’s an offence to fly a drone within 150 metres of a congested area – defined as being used for residential, industrial, commercial or recreation.
If you’re a drone operators with questions, you can find out more information from Martin Benson, the Senior Air Traffic Officer at Ronaldsway, on 821600.
