Call for law change to protect cyclists
Motorists are around 90 per cent responsible for all cycle accidents - so it's time they face the full weight of the law.
That's the view of Manx cycling ambassador Rob Holden who wants to see reforms to the Highway Code.
Safe Cycling Isle of Man is driving the call for change following the death of Kate Burge in 2014, when she was knocked off her bike by a car in Kirk Michael.
Campaigners also want to see a 'safe passing distance' rule established for overtaking vehicles - similar to many European countries.
