Temporary roadworks will cost £40,000
Douglas promenade is past "the point of no return", so temporary roadworks are now a necessity, according to the infrastructure minister.
The £40,000 project plays no part in regeneration plans that have been out to public consultation, with no solid conclusions drawn.
Work will begin on 18 November, when a 10mph speed limit will be imposed between Castlemona Avenue and the Palace Hotel.
The second phase is from the Palace to the bottom of Summerhill, scheduled for between 26 November and 4 December.
