Kewley threatened social workers

A social inquiry report is being prepared in the case of a Douglas man who left threatening phone messages to female social workers.

56 year-old Richard Alan Kewley, of Tynwald Road, has already pleaded guilty to two counts of  conduct leading to fear of violence.

At 3am on 27 November, Kewley called Markwell House - where the two women were based - and left a series of voice messages.

He claimed he knew where one of the workers lived and also threatened to 'stab them'.

The case had been adjourned two weeks ago as the psychiatric report had failed to be produced - however it was adjourned once again after Kewley missed his appointment with probation officers.

The court heard he did phone ahead to explain he was unwell and wouldn't make the appointment.

Kewley will appear in court again next on 21 March.
