Douglas man admits driving offences

No tax or insurance, fake registration

A Douglas man’s admitted driving with no tax or insurance and a fraudulent registration after he’d been banned from the roads.

Forty-nine-year-old James Jeremy Rennison, of Stanley View, appeared at Douglas courthouse before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes.

He’s admitted driving while disqualified, using a vehicle with a fraudulent registration, having no car tax or insurance and failing to notify Treasury of a change in ownership.

The court heard police stopped him on 8 June, on Ballakillowey Road in Port Erin.

Prosecutor Roger Kane told the court Rennisson had been banned from getting behind the wheel, and hadn’t retaken his test after the ban had expired.

The 49-year-old has pleaded not guilty to two further charges of failing to provide a specimen of breath for police and dangerous driving.

Rennison’s advocate Ian Kermode made no application for bail.

Mrs Hughes remanded him to the prison and he’ll next appear via live video link on 16 July, before committal proceedings are due to take place on 6 August.
