Forty-eight-year-old pleads not guilty
A Douglas man will appear in court again in November over an allegation of dangerous driving on the Mountain Road.
Forty-eight-year-old Rikki Goodall, of Ashberry Avenue, represented himself when he appeared before the Deputy High Bailiff at Douglas Courthouse.
He pleaded not guilty to driving dangerously on 6 February.
Prosecution advocate Rebecca Cubbon told the court Mr Goodall was driving south at around 7pm.
He’s said to have overtaken two vehicles near Brandish in his Kia Niro.
But when he tried to overtake another, on a blind bend, a driver heading the other way was forced to perform an emergency stop and swerved into a bank to avoid a head-on crash.
The hearing was told he clipped the other vehicle, causing cosmetic damage, but drove off.
Mr Goodall’s case was adjourned and he’s next due to appear in court on 16 November.
