Denies assault and resisting police
A Douglas man’s appeared in court accused of spitting on police and headbutting an officer as he was detained for a drugs search.
Thirty-six-year-old Jonathon Edward Myers, of Victoria Road, appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse.
He denies one count of assaulting an officer and one of resisting police in the execution of their duty and entered no plea to charges of possessing heroin and criminal damage.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing Mr Myers was stopped by police on Woodbourne Road on 11 September.
She claimed officers found three wraps of heroin, worth up to £75 in total.
Magistrates remanded Mr Myers in custody until he appears in court again via a live link from the Isle of Man Prison.
He’s next due to appear in person on 14 November when a pre-trial review will be held.
