Douglas fire crews dealing with 'hotspots' in Groudle

50,000 litres of fresh water was used to help bring yesterday's fire under control.

Emergency services are currently at Groudle Head dealing with some 'hotspots' of yesterdays fire. 

Just before Midday on Saturday fire crews from Laxey and Douglas were called out to deal with a wildfire in the area. 

It was later discovered two disposable BBQ's and glass bottles were left at the countryside which caused the fire. 

Around 50,000 litres of fresh water, as well as drawing water from the river, was used to help bring the fire under control.

Today the Fire and Rescue Service issued a statement to say crews from Douglas were back at Groudle.
