Douglas Council to spend £27,000 on new pay machines at car park

It will also be replacing the shelter covering the machines

Douglas Council has agreed to spend £27,000 on replacement pay machines at the Bottleneck car park.

The current shelters are 'old and rusty' and the local authority says the lack of protection means there are more breakdowns.

The local authority says the two machines are seven years old and should have lasted 10 years but has blamed the marine environment for the problems.

The cost will be budgeted next year and they'll be replaced at the same time to 'minimise' down time for the payment system.
